Always come back with great food. The Corona requirements are met in an exemplary manner 👍🏻
The ambience is just like you would imagine a Bavarian inn. But unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing. The Maultachen were not freshly made but finished products. The potato pancakes were frozen. Accordingly, the prices were way too high! Pity!
Absolute recommendation, many older reviews refer to the previous tenant. Fast, attentive service, large portions and really very good quality. The Böfflamot was excellent, only the dumpling didn't quite meet my taste, but it was well crafted. Price performance fully justified.
Very long wait. Waiter overwhelmed (too few staff for a full restaurant) Our expectations of the food were not met. The meat was very dry (venison & pork fillet) and the cheese spaetzle had hardly any taste. The beef roulade was ok. You can expect a lot more for the prices. Once and never again.
Price performance goes like this ... I'm not a big eater but just got so full ... Taste was very good though
A friendly welcome in a rustic but also modern economy. Large, varied menu with fair prices. Service very friendly! We recommend!
Delicious eaten. For dessert we took the Keizerschmarren with the 2 of us. 1 portion is more than enough for 2 people. They also have delicious beer.
Very good, cozy and attentive staff. We had knuckle of knuckle, bread dumplings with cahmpignons, a chanterelle soup ... it all tasted very good ... keep it up!
Price-performance ratio unfortunately does not fit, food served carelessly, no extras, such as small lettuce leaves, etc. But juicy prices. Waiters are visibly overwhelmed at rush hour. For us there is no second time. Too bad.
Very nice local, food and staff very good but a little higher price range.
We were on vacation in Waltenhofen for a week and stopped here twice because it was within walking distance of our hotel. The first time we ate trout and venison goulash on the terrace. Despite the space in the back corner, the waitress was very attentive. The food was good, the trout was just missing a bit of spice and of the filling with garden herbs only a sprig of parsley could be seen. The spaetzle / Knöpfle with the goulash were a bit dry, otherwise it was tasty. The second time we had a seat inside in the comfortably furnished restaurant. This time we opted for chanterelles with bread dumplings: good portion, only the sauce was a little bit bland. For dessert there was "the small portion" of Kaiserschmarrn (on the advice of the waitress) which was very tasty and still hardly manageable for two;) Conclusion: nice, attentive service, nice restaurant, solid food. A little seasoning here and there, then it fits. The prices are for a tourist stronghold in my opinion. normal.
We haven't eaten bad yet. We ordered pork and saddle of venison, both of which were very dry (tough), plus the chocolate cabbage was just a cooked porridge. Muddy spaetzle Here the price / performance ratio wasn't right at all. I paid a whopping 24.80 for my saddle of venison. Terrible experience for € 82.
The waiter on the terrace is very nice and quick. Special requests are fulfilled without complaint! The food is very, very tasty! Congratulations to the house for employing such a great cook in the kitchen 😍
Very neat. Everything is very inviting. Food was great and plentiful. Dog was allowed in. We were very satisfied
Unfortunately we can only give 2 stars for this restaurant. And why? We ordered fish and saddle of venison, both of which were very dry, and there was also the fact that the potatoes were swimming in the fat and the chocolate cabbage was just an overcooked porridge. Here the price / performance ratio wasn't right at all. I paid a whopping 24.80 for my saddle of venison. But there is one more positive statement. The nut spaetzle was very good. So we can unfortunately not recommend this restaurant.
The service today was absolutely the last thing their colleagues do in front of the guests and is dressed so something like that doesn't work in the service! We were here two years ago and every year before! Really great the waiters were great today but the rest a thank you!
Upscale prices in a mediocre restaurant The inn is absolute mediocrity. The food tastes good, the salad is very tasty because many herbs are used. Otherwise it is very expensive to eat here. If you don't have to look at the money, it's fine, otherwise just go to a side street and eat there. The staff is friendly.
Is it the best definitely not, is it the worst? The food was meh and nothing to write home about. Found the service probably the slowest in Bavaria. The roast beef was more like a pot roast and served with what tasted likey gravy from a can. For the price expected more.
One of the waiters was so rude. He would not let my wife to change her order right after he ordered for every one at our table. He did not even leave our table yet! He replied "NO, you can't change your order. I have sent it in". At the end of our meal, he would not bring us our check but ask my friend's wife to follow him to the front to pay. Yes, he did bring checks to other tables. We travel the world and are very well behaved. So disappointed!
We came with a group and with a reservation. The reception was terrible, not a smile, not a word. Food was average. Sometimes, I ask myself why some people force themselves working with the public if they don't like that ? Avoid. Plenty of restaurants out there. G.
Very traditional Bavarian eatery. The interior is amazing, especially the painted low ceilings. There are three big rooms and plenty of tables so when you are lucky, you can have a choice of where to sit, depending on occasion. The atmosphere is homely and friendly. Waitresses are dressed in traditional outfits. The food is reasonably priced and portions are big. As you can expect the menu is full of traditional dishes so unfortunately for vegans there is only a few options available, from separate asparagus menu or you can choose side salads. Do make sure you tell them you are a vegan or vegetarian as they use a lot of creams in salads and soups are cooked on beef stock. Their mixed salad is very good, big portion and interesting selection of veggies, not just leafy greens. My vegan dish is pictured below - It was delicious and nicely served.
We went with a large group of people from several countries. It was fixed menu. The food was not good. The service was rude, and agresiva. The waitress yelled at a patron who asked for the vegetarian option she had ordered. When we ordered a beer we were told (scolded)it was extra, I said no problem, please bring it. I had to order it four times before anyone brought it. Personnel needs training.
Good food, a bit more spice, possibly the herb tastes like out of the can, but still tastes good! Service very very nice and always there, if you need something! 👌🏻
The foods are delicious. The service is polite. It's a good restaurant!
Too bad food for such a place. Portions are tiny. Three spoons of soup in a plate are not typical for Germany. Here you will be offered three spoons of soup. Dessert tiny and tasteless. The place really upset me. I spent money for nothing.
Eat good. Service friendly attentive and fast. Espresso does not work. Price performance but otherwise ok. Draft beer good. All in all, recommended.
Food tasted nice, and the atmosphere was pretty. The service was lacking. They refused to let us get food "to go" for a family member who was sick in the hotel, forcing us to get McDonald's for them instead. We felt like we were bothering them the whole time there.
The food was always good. The service is consistently very friendly, but could be more attentive, especially in the beer garden.
I only used the restaurant during a travel break. The staff this is a tragedy in this place and the food too. Entering the premises, seeing the menu, I asked if I could take it right to the table. Was "yes". In a moment, another waiter came to the ouer table and told me that this place is not a self-service. We ordered a dish that was over salted. When I said that I want to pay with the card there was dissatisfaction. I paid, but then I had to look for a waiter to get the bill. When I found the waiter he just sipped beer in the back room. Generally, I do not recommend this place if someone wants to make a quiet trip without a nerve.
Good things: -Good quality food -good not too big portions -beautiful interiors and wonderful facade of the building, typical Bavarian style -authentic clothing worn by the waiters -very cosy -fair price -perfect location at the center of the small town -Has a restaurant and a hotel, perfect stay for the traveller -Menus in several languages So so things: -prices a bit over the average -couldn't see an outside seating, pity since in the summer people love sitting outside and enjoying the fresh air -it felt a bit like this place is the touristic place everyone goes to. Conclusion: I recommend it for sure, you'll love it. We didn't eat much but we ended paying an easy 50 euros. If you're okay with that, go and relax in this beautiful place.
Very very good food, very tasty and certainly upper class. Service was good, could have paid a bit more attention that we always have sth to drink, other than that no complaints.
Disliked being charged over 3 euros for a glass of tap water! Food was not amazing and price was slightly over average. The Swiss people beside us weren't impressed with their roast beef. I had the herring, which was really some fish with a lot of mayonnaise. My husband has the turkey which he liked. Service was poor and didn't speak good English. Hotel itself is nice but go elsewhere for dinner!
really good Bavarian and Austrian food, friendly service and a good variety of dishes from wild rabbit to trout and vegetarian options
Ok
Everything we ordered was really good, the perch was excellent. This is classic German food and not too expensive.
Very good food, exceptional service at a very a reasonable price! I was staying at the Hotel Weinbauer just adove this restaurant, and was tempted to dine there by the aromas coming from the kitchen.
